On March 14, Shantou held the inaugural meeting of the Committee of Teochew-origin Medical Experts Not Living in Shantou (Teochew Medical Think Tank). Teochew-origin medical experts gathered in Shantou. Through targeted support, professional cooperation and other ways, they would support Shantou in building a regional medical hub, and promote the development of medical and health services and big health industry in Shantou.

“Teochew Medical Think Tank” is Shantou’s first high-level talent pool composed of Teochew-origin medical experts not living in Shantou in the medical and health care industry. Its members come from provincial and ministerial major hospitals, high-level medical and health institutions or important associations, covering more than 20 specialties such as cardiovascular, digestive, and respiratory. Up to now, more than 160 well-known experts have been included in the talent pool. “Teochew Medical Think Tank” and its expert members have reached strategic cooperation agreements with Shantou Municipal Health Bureau and relevant hospitals, resulting in 52 cooperation projects.
